At least 20 dead after Limpopo diamond mine bus collides with truck, burts into flames

At least 20 people died when a bus burst into flames after colliding with a truck head-on in Limpopo on Sunday afternoon.The accident occurred on the R572, and the bus is understood to have been travelling from Musina, transporting workers to the Venetia Diamond Mine near Alldays. Social media reports claimed the bus had collided head-on with a truck, but this has not been confirmed by the authorities.

South African mines get a faster route to Mozambique port

South Africa’s mining companies, losing out on billions of dollars in sales due to logistics bottlenecks, could soon have a quicker route to ports in neighboring Mozambique. The Logistics Co (TLC), indirectly owned by Old Mutual’s African Infrastructure Investment Managers, plans to open a trucks-only crossing at Komatipoort, just north of South Africa’s main Lebombo entry point into Mozambique. The project involves upgrading an existing service road along a railway line, and building a truck staging facility that will have customs and immigration offices on the outskirts of the town of Komatipoort, according to Hennie Jooste, head of operations at TLC.

Sanral confirms CFO’s leave of absence

Sanral to start N3 Westville to Paradise Valley upgrade

The South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) will start significant building and upgrades on the N3 between the Westville viaduct and the Paradise Valley interchange on October 1. The R4.7-billion job is anticipated to cross about 51 months. JDA completes portion of Modderfontein bridge project

The occasion involved the SATMC inviting stakeholders– consisting of original-equipment producers, automobile dealerships, members of government, nationwide traffic police, and others– to go over, emphasise the value and demonstrate of tire safety in preventing road accidents in South Africa.
